I am back again! Here are a few quiet moments from my world on the mountainside and elsewhere as time propels us forward into the unknown.
This last year has been very hard. My partner was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma on top of everything else he has endured over the last two years (knee surgeries and more). Now we are moving into summer and hoping for better times. Slowly people are emerging from the Covid isolaton. We are trying to be optimistic about treatments and limitations, and we so miss traveling.
Life is still beautiful and mysterious. The mound out back has bloomed with spring wild flowers and now the grasses dance in the winds from the west. Dragonflies dive bomb us while the birds scour the rock side for insects and other tasty delights. The deer have been hiding this year, but still surreptitiously munch on my plantings, so I know they are here but I have not been able to catch them with my camera yet.
I will try to visit everyone over the next while although I see a few of my old blogging friends have gone. May you all be “stardust and golden” this summer

and a midsummer dreaming with Marianne Faithfull and the Gypsy Fairy Queen
Puck follows his Queen though her light has dimmed and she no longer speaks. She doesn’t even seem to know anymore that he’s close by. Still he follows with unwavering loyalty always ready to do her bidding. We humans have stopped believing in the magic and though we cannot see the lady of the elements, she still wanders in secret, through her woodlands and fields singing her song and trying to heal what we have damaged.

my own ode to summer with Back Garden Productions – Hillside Matins and Sacred Pauses I am quite pleased with this one and hope you will like it too. ( 1 minute 20 sec)

Glad, you’re still here. It’s always refreshing seeing your very different images (compared to the others in my daily feed). I know, refreshing is not the right term to describe it as it is filled with so much melancholy and sadness. Wishing you and your partner all the very best.

was shocked by news of your partner’s illness and all through Covid too – wishing you both strength in each other and from the world around which you see with such magical eyes. We need magic to have any faith at all. Your words are a feast and your “Hillside Matins and Sacred Pauses” held me spellbound. Lovely to have you back in the blogosphere!

Sorry to hear about your partner. Seems all I’ve been hearing lately is people’s dealing with health issues, so I can understand the difficulty. My best wishes for finding good doctors and good care.
I must confess to not having visited Flickr for a good long while. One, I typically forget it’s there because 2) I deal more with SmugMug and I’m also fairly busy with stuff.
That said, the videos and pictures are great, as usual. Take care.

Oh, Hanna, I am so sorry to hear about the struggles of your partner. I’m afraid that I haven’t posted anything for what seems like forever. Maybe one of these days….? I would never have guessed that song was Marianne Faithful. Of course, I still hear her singing from the 60s! Your ode to summer is beautiful. Sending prayers to you and yours that all will be well and that you’ll have a wonderful summer. Blessings! ❤
