What strange times we are living these days. I’ve been very preoccupied lately – but this too shall pass!
I hope and pray you are all doing well and this post finds you healthy and not too stressed financially, spiritually and emotionally. I’ve also heard from friends and relatives overseas and I know Italy has suffered terribly. Yet in both Italy and Greece people lean out city windows and balconies and sing to each other in true Mediterranean spirit. I am lucky to live in a more rural area and we are getting by. Shopping is a bit restricted and no more going out to the pub- even on St. Patrick’s Day this year! It makes me realize that it’s very possible things will not go back to what they once were. We are going to be much more careful and remembering a classic post- apocalyptic film “SilentRunning “ I am hoping we will be better custodians of our own garden in space. Mother Earth is getting a rest from our strife and pollution at the moment and the Himalayas were visible for the first time in years in India. Canadians are cooperating with the health regulations and we have not done too badly on Vancouver island so far. People are still out for walks while keeping the required social distance. Nikos had a small setback with his surgical healing but is better now and I will be popping by your blogs over the next few days. My daughter had bronchitis and so we dropped off an Easter Basket delivery on her doorstep, rang the bell and no hugs!! We sadly and quietly went home and made Tsoureki (Greek Easter bread) for the holiday and listened to the beautiful Orthodox chant being televised from a Byzantine Easter past.
Time to rest, catch up on reading, sit in the garden sunshine, listen to music, watch movies -and Skype!!

A heartfelt and beautifully worded message to all your followers, Cybele. The whole world is suffering this year and even more so this past week or so following the dreadful incident in the US. Sometimes it feels like the whole world has gone mad. I’m glad to hear that you and your family are doing OK. We are the same here, as we live in a tiny village in a rural area, and getting out for walks isn’t a problem. ❤

Thank you for this lovely post and pictures. We are all facing challenges. I’m lucky like you and live in a rural area. I thank the Goddess that I moved here even though my friends really objected at the time. Sure there are still problems but they are manageable.

Wonderful pictures, my friend – to an ex- birder like me, especially the Hummingbird! – and never worry about “unkempt” gardens, they’re even more valuable for wildlife. A lovely post and so glad that you are your family are getting through all of this. I, myself, do not believe that this is how it will always be for the one thing that is a certainty is ‘change’ and as life continues to move forward, change will happen.
