Have any of you tried the True (ancient) Ancestry site? Don’t! You will end up more confused than I was with Ancestry ( Visigoths and Scythians, Celts, Gauls even Romans and Viking and Bell Beakers etc). Although my dear friends it matters not where you are from there are always surprises in store.

Vivaldi and Autumn!
and now a recipe!! ( not with these ones)
Parmesan mushrooms:
- 1 1/2 pounds cremini mushrooms, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons dried thyme
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
DIRECTIONS:
-
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly oil a baking sheet or coat with nonstick spray.
- Place mushrooms in a single layer onto the prepared baking sheet. Add olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, thyme and Parmesan; season with salt and pepper, to taste. Gently toss to combine.
Place into oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until browned and tender, tossing occasionally.
Serve immediately.

Gorgeous autumn images, Cybele. The mushrooms look delicious even if they aren’t edible. 🙂 I can honestly say that I’ve never been the least curious about what I might find on any of the ancestry sites. 🙂

Magnificent work, shall definitely try that mushroom dish and yes, Ireland and Scotland rock although my heritage does not come from those directions but from the opposite instead. We are all migrants and immigrants…mind you, killing the natives in the process.

The mushroom photos are beautiful. I hope you make it back to the celtic lands. That ancestry site you mention sounds wild. One of my grandfathers (I only saw him twice ) traced our Scottish family tree to the Douglas clan and then back into the wilds of celtic Britain. From memory he went back to about 900 AD but I have a feeling he made it up 😀 Its strange to think further back than that. North Africa sounds plausible for there are theories the celts came from there.

My Mom, sisters and I went down the DNA slide. We had some surprises, but mostly we’re what we expected Western European Dutch and English with a wee bit of Scots and Irish thrown in.

Good to see you! Sounds like you’ve really been busy. I ended up hospitalized with pneumonia in September (first ever for both events) but I’m all better now! I just haven’t posted anything in ever. Love seeing your art photos again!

Oh Good Grief Linda!! I”m sorry to hear that. Well when all is running smoothly we must have overlooked something. Things got better for awhile and then wham, Nick’s going in hospital Wed with an aneurism!! Say a prayer. He should be fine- it’s not the heart but will be laid up till Christmas !

Hi Cybele — I just thought I would let you know that it took several minutes to see the slide show and the first photo and to hear the sound clip. I was able to view the Flicker preview right away, though, and the Itakos Project link worked fine, too. I’m not sure if the problem is on my side or yours.
