We all need a touch of magic! So I’d like to share with my readers a video presentation of my photography and participation on the Stolen Child exhibit at Itakos Gallery by Akim Alonzo and CybeleMoon. I had a lot of fun putting this together (with my very rudimentary program- Wondershare).

The Stolen Child
your flight to the fantasy is here

The Stolen Child by William Butler Yeats
Where dips the rocky highland
Of Sleuth Wood in the lake,
There lies a leafy island
Where flapping herons wake
The drowsy water rats;
There we’ve hid our faery vats,
Full of berrys
And of reddest stolen cherries.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.
Where the wave of moonlight glosses
The dim gray sands with light,
Far off by furthest Rosses
We foot it all the night,
Weaving olden dances
Mingling hands and mingling glances
Till the moon has taken flight;
To and fro we leap
And chase the frothy bubbles,
While the world is full of troubles
And anxious in its sleep.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.
Where the wandering water gushes
From the hills above Glen-Car,
In pools among the rushes
That scarce could bathe a star,
We seek for slumbering trout
And whispering in their ears
Give them unquiet dreams;
Leaning softly out
From ferns that drop their tears
Over the young streams.
Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.
Away with us he’s going,
The solemn-eyed:
He’ll hear no more the lowing
Of the calves on the warm hillside
Or the kettle on the hob
Sing peace into his breast,
Or see the brown mice bob
Round and round the oatmeal chest.
For he comes, the human child,
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than he can understand.
disclaimer: I have used the beautiful music of Loreena McKennitt ( the stolen child) in my video who in no way endorses the project itself
It is my understanding that according to Ian Black of Quinlan Road regarding restrictions on sharing sites like Youtube
“Our policy is to monetise third party YouTube content containing Loreena’s music (i.e. ads are shown prior to a video being viewed). We proactively take down offensive content but generally we let bygones be bygones as long as they are not trying to make money off of it or are otherwise promoting the work itself (or another product or service) as being approved by Loreena in some way”

Tales, images, music, feelings…I appreciate everything in your works! I also peeped in your Flickr site simply wonderful!!!

I ditto that, Patti! Cybele is incredibly talented and definitely deserves recognition. Maybe she is like me, though, as we’re of the same personality type, that she would have mixed feelings about some of the more daunting aspects of recognition.

so appreciated Sarah!! I’m now bogged down by a partner who will be having surgery next week. Laid up over christmas!!

All best wishes to your partner for successful surgery and a speedy recovery. And love and hugs to you, Cybele, who’ll doubtless have at least twice the amount to do, plus all the worry that goes with looking after someone you care about. Hoping you look after yourself, too, and don’t allow yourself to get overly worn out. Healing thoughts and prayers winging your way across the ocean xxxx
