Ahh Summer!

My contribution to Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness 4-14 is “Sunlight on Daisies.”  I have included both coloured and monochrome versions and I like both!

( and a poem of sorts)

Ahh Summer!

parting the blue veil of morning

tracing the pattern of flowers against the window light

wrapping the meadow up in afternoon gold

as the sweet feet of bees softly churn up pollen.

BEE POLLEN

Later, the summer moon  slips a ribbon of silver through the keyhole
and down to the star tossed sea

and all is well.

All these photos are beautiful and the field of daisies is stunning. I love both versions, but if pushed, I would say I like the coloured one best. I love that bee, too, and your wording to go with the summer moon photo is just perfect.

Beautiful words and images, Cybele. I like the colour version of the daisies best – but that’s mainly because I love the colours of a summer meadow! The monochrome is a stunning image, as well. 🙂

    1. many many thanks Ali!! btw I’m not sure if you know but someone who is an artist and a builder in the virtual world, asked if she could use my tales of Niamh ( loosely based on Oisin legend) as a theme and story for her build and let me collaborate on it with her. This is also connected with a virtual group called Seanchai library and in voice story telling there. It’s a bit of a pain to create an account etc but here is a link you might enjoy. I love your “magic”! Beautiful shots of summer. Although the color shot of the daisies is pretty, the black and white is more dramatic and moving. Interesting to see the difference. I hope you’re having a wonderful summer.

Beautiful images! You have a way with photos. I could not do the same. My youngest son when he was a boy wanted so to help with my garden. I had some daisies growing in their own patch of ground and told him to tend them carefully, making sure to weed and water as often as he liked. They grew taller than him it seemed and he was so happy to take care of his daisies. 🙂

      1. I revisited this post in the wee hours of this morning and feel to say more. The music was perfect for the mood. I do love all your photos as previously stated. For the daisies, I’m partial to the color version. There is something so reflective and calming in the colors. I thought that bee was going to jump off the page and fly at me! Great capture. I hope all is well and that you have a beautiful week ahead!
