I must begin somewhere

because the ending is yet to be written.

Morning arrives on the mountain side. It’s summer at last! I wake up to such a profound quiet I wait a moment for my soul to return from wandering until I finally hear the wind in the trees, a bird’s song or the faint hum of tiny wings outside my window.

Wait, not him!! That’s more of a swoosh. I had to go further afoot yesterday to watch this lovely and ancient fellow landing in the lagoon and so I had to include him!  Rather the lovely hum was a greeting from this tiny creature hovering by the pane.

I wasn’t able to catch him in the bath but my submission to Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness (4-10) today was this lovely reflective moment!

In the evening the night visitors return with the moon to the rise.  Sadly, the Northern Spotted Owl is on the endangered list but he is thriving here and the black tailed deer, though a gentle romantic figure is a flower thief. Geraniums and roses have vanished so I put in a water sprayer with a sensor. I’ll let you know if this ending is satisfactory and I will have another story for you next time!

No one knows what makes the soul wake up so happy! Maybe a dawn breeze has blown the veil from the face of God- Rumi

Such lovely images, Cybele, and lovely commentary to accompany them. The reflection in the bird bath is just beautiful. So sad to think about the endangered status of the Northern Spotted Owl. So many species are in the same category nowadays. Beautiful post, as always.

well, at least no bears so far. 🙂 deer always ate my grandmother’s flowers too, except rock geraniums and poppies and anything that looked like a daisy. that is, the flowers that the chipmunks left for them. Might I ask, how is your camera saga going? All solved and shiny new or making due? Adore your photos and processing. 🐇🐸🐲🐺🐻
