Darkness before Dawn

Hello to all my WordPress friends,

I’m still dealing with some difficult family issues, and still rising myself, from the swirling Stygian winter depths.

but here is all my news so far:

Spring is arriving on the mountainside

and corridors of light are opening up the forest floor

“Silence is the language of God, all else is poor translation“- Jalaluddin Rumi

my submission to Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness 4-1 (four great years!)

and news on another front:

A friend of mine from the Netherlands who is a watercolour artist asked if she could bring my Tales of the Tuatha to a virtual world. Inspired by my own images she created a brilliant representation, and a storyteller from Seanchai Library read a shortened version of the tale in a virtual setting to any who “logged in.” It was a delightful fantasy experience and one more interesting venue for the arts. I have posted it on the Desert Mice Story Blog where there are links to some great reviews of the installation.

In Australia it is difficult to say whether the stigma is coming or going it depends on the area in which one lives.

  11. I’m sorry to hear you’re going through a rough patch at this time. I hope it’s short lived. I love all the artwork and I think it’s exciting what you’re doing with your story. Discussing mental health should not have such a stigma attached. I don’t know anyone who hasn’t somehow been touched by it –whether suffering with it themselves or with their family or friends. Be well, my friend. The sun always shines after the rain❣

So beautiful dear Cybele… Spring has sprung for you! and the corridors of light are opening up the forest floor(love the images and those words in particular.
Also I echoe the quote. “Silence is the language of God, all else is poor translation”… I many times find peace in Silence, and, by the way, I have been listening to White noises videos on Youtube before bedtime. Great post, my friend. Happy Spring to you from my autumnal southern hemisphere 😉 ⭐

How did I find “The Runes of the Gatekeeper’s Daughter” probably initially through Inara Pey’s Living in a Modem World blog. I try to keep up with happening in Second Life through that. I say probably because I follow thirty five other blogs and there is a lot of reblogging in all those and I don’t remember for sure which one. Plus there was the use of the goddess Cybele in your name and years ago she came to me in a dream so I was intrigued.

Beautiful both in photos and depth of feelings. Yes, the stigma about mental pain has to be removed, here in the UK both princes are involved on this issue by finally discussing the silence around their mother’s death and the suppressed pain they suffer from. Even the Dutch king openly talked about his pain and his mother’s about prins Friso’s death in 2013 after a skiing accident and coma for 1.5 years. Here in the UK there is still a great taboo around death, depression and anxiety amongst ordinary folk. Upon the death of my one and only child now 3 years ago, people actually avoided me cause they did not know what to say and even now it is very rare for anyone to ask me how I am coping. Makes one feel very lonely.

    1. oh Paula, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and your pain with me. I am crying after reading it. I am so sorry for such a loss and I know what you are saying about people avoiding you and not wanting to hear about it. My family has had issues around depression and mood disorder. You may know that my brother committed suicide which I did write about a few years after he died. We can die of loneliness and sometimes people don’t even know. Grief is a deep ocean but comfort and joy still come in many forms. Life so precious is also about loss. In the end we are left with memories and that great mystery of time. Sometimes I just put it all in the hands of God or the Universe ( surrender I suppose) and go on.
