Monochrome Madness and moon shadows

Two weeks behind but I’m here again! – and I haven’t done anything Goth for a while. Hallow’s eve or Samhain will be the next holiday and we will be deep into Autumn. I can only say that I feel the changes taking place in the earth and in myself – a transition from one season of life into another.  I can’t say that I’m fully embracing it  yet on all levels. My situation has changed and it’s a challenge for the dune mouse who usually wants to hide in her hole. I’m being forced to engage more, only to find out I’m quite set in my ways.

This is the season of entering dormancy, not growth, yet I’m finding a few tendrils poking through the crusty bark that refuse to be ignored. A winter moon is on it’s way and I must hurry to fill the soul pantry. I have to admit that as I did take on the moniker of the symbolic mouse shadow of the second moon of Dune, thus “The sleeper must awaken!!

Stunning photos, Cybele and a great selection. The Cat Stevens song has been a favourite of mine for many years and it complements perfectly your wonderful photo of the full moon.

  6. Such beautiful photos as always. I hope you’re starting to feel a bit more oriented to your new surroundings. It definitely takes some time. But then, for me, all change takes time to adjust to! By the way, always loved Cat Stevens! 🙂 Hugs to you.

  8. I was just reading an article about the way that everyone talks about the stress of moving house, but not about the time it takes to transition from ways of being in one place to the way of being in the new place – sounds like you’re having a little of that at the moment Cybele 🙂

    1. yes Andrea- life is about change and loss and it’s good to contemplate that but not for too long! New adventures always await. Thanks for all your wisdom and I will hopefully catch up though I’m going slowly lol!

Love these mono images, Cybele, but then you know I’m into such things – I especially like the one entitled “so many trees”, that’s very striking and certainly different. And your entry for Mono Madness is also excellent – striking and different again. And you’re finding you’re quite set in your ways?! Well, you and me both, my friend, and, for my part, I wonder both (a) if I have the energy to do anything about it and (b) whether its necessarily a bad thing! All good wishes from me! Adrian

Wonderful selection for MM. I loved the “moon shadow” and “always a light…” They are suitable title for the composition. Specially the moon shadow which almost feels like you are stepping into a different land altogether. The last one is a contrast to the rest but the soft ferns appear to be miraculous in the midst of the heavy forest.
Hope you are doing well Moon. 🙂

The primeval forest photo really speaks to me. Like you I am entering a time of complete change – I haven’t yet moved house and area but it is only a few weeks away. Off today to check out rentals in my locale. Big, big changes. The earth is changing and we are changing with it (those who can hear at the call at this point in time anyway). It is about opening up after being so inward looking for so long, I agree. Scary but at the same time wonderfully expansive. 🙂

Bless you for carrying the lamp & creating these beautiful images & honest, well expressed words. There is such courage & brightness in you, wee mouse & you make a difference to the world by not giving in & giving up ! You also keep a sense of humour which when all is said & done is the spark which inspires & forgives all that can weigh us down. Thank you for sharing your brightness!
