I am still taking a break from blogging and still catching up!! House hunting is a pain as the first deal fell through!! Weather is awful!! Spring will come.
Romance in February
But I cannot miss Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness and as Valentines Day is looming I thought of romance and history. Here is a vintage from our family archives and I love it!!- a girl who worked in the munitions factory and the airman who was the love of her life. There were tears and tragedies, courage and hope and never before did it really mean so much to live”For the Moment.” ( a lovely Canadian film with Russel Crow)

and in keeping with the journey of love a pair of resting sailboats bask in the the sunset off the Isle of Arran at sunset
and “the swans they swim so bonny oh!”

An extra:
Ever since I first saw Disney illustrations I loved fantasy graphics so for those who don’t mind something a little different, I occasionally visit the virtual world and use virtual landscapes ( non copyright and with some of my own artistic licence) as illustrations for stories. Check out the legend of the Selkie here Seaward Ho, the Selkie of Sule Skerry

Beautiful twosome photos for Valentine’s Day. :). Hmm that boat scene seems eerily familiar!

I mean that I recognize the origin of the game image. 🙂

oh right I forgot about that one!! Though it is not the same as it once was I admit to popping in from time to time and using certain images for stories. There appears to be quite an art gathering there now. That’s the part of it I can still appreciate.

I can finally talk about it without such negative feelings. I always did enjoy the art part of it and it’s where I learned photoshop! Seems so long ago.

I’d like to start my comment, before my praises for your post, with the Greek Stoic maxim which says :”Ουδέν κακόν αμιγές καλού”,simply in English :”every cloud has a silver lining”.Think of that and see the unknown and hidden good,at the moment, which is behind the lost deal …
What an originative post for the Day of Love, dear Cybele! Most of the posts are based on flowers and sweets and commonplace ideas, but yours has such a pleasant vintage feeling and a touch of romance with the story of this wonderful film you presented and with the lovely swan couple.Your old sea tale is majestical, loved the dazzling, golden sheen where the dark silhouettes of the resting boats write their story.Best of luck with everything and much kudos,I am so glad your work got the recognition it deserves 🙂 ❤ xxx

Hi Cybele. I love these photos–especially the post card and the old sea tales. Lovely. And good luck house hunting. I’ve done it many times and it’s never easy. But you’ll know the “right” one as soon as you walk through the door.

Love your photos. The swans are captivating! I’m so sorry about your house. But I just know that you’ll find the right one and it will be even better! The catio is nearly done; it just needs the screens installed but the weather is not cooperating. It’s either snowing or raining lately. But, soon… I hope you had a lovely Valentine’s Day. Hugs!

Wishing your house hunting ends with a real jewel.
In the second pix, it looks like the bird is winging to the boats with some urgent message. Will they stay serene at anchor much longer?
Of course the pairs perfectly matched – both swans and family – are both charming

Those are all lovely! I love the top vintage postcard!
I have a dear friend also going through what you’re going through. The first house they bought fell through, and she has to move out of her house as the buyers are anxious to own it and move in. She, her husband, and little dog will be living with her parents for a few weeks, and they’re putting all their stuff in storage.
They just found another house. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and saying prayers that it works out for them, and I’ll keep you also in my thoughts and prayers. I don’t envy you this part, but having a new house somewhere you want to be will be worth the struggles, and hassles. xx
