Monochrome madness time again!

Hi everyone,

WordPress has taken a  back seat the last while.  I’m in the throes of a big move (to the lake if all goes well) so it has been pretty busy looking at places and then all the other financial and legal stuff that gives one a headache – plus the anxiety of being both terrified and excited. It will be a process and one step at a time though I tend to try to meet myself around the corner before I get there.

I have raided my travel photos again and found many I have not published but that I love.

Here is my entry for MM 2-42 and please drop by Leanne’s wonderful gallery.

Hi Cybele. I love the aura of magic and mystery in your photos! What filters/post processing programs do you use?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Hey Patti, Thanks so much! I do use Photoshop and the Nic collection but more recently sprang for some Topaz filters – not the whole package which is very expensive. 400 something Canadian.
However, these two monochrome were taken with my infra red camera which often gives a haunting look to images. Of course the lighting helps that as well. I added a sepia filter to the second. On the hillside scene I used a topaz style filter and faded it to very slightly enhance the colour and definition. Then I wave my magic wand.

I have a free trial of one of the Topaz filter sets. They are expensive. My son, who loves photography, says I should take a look at Nic, which is much cheaper now.

I’m intrigued by the infrared cameras and would love to “play” with one of them. 🙂 Are you happy with the one you have?

Three astounding images resembling your sentiments right now,my friend Cybele. You said you feel terrified and excited at the same time. And me,in awe I stand and look up,very high up where the ambitious chapel is soaring skywards to become one with heavens.Your mystical garden with the divine lighting excites all my senses and travels me to the unknown, where I can see what is invisible down on earth … And the third one with the brilliant greens and the golden nuances brings me back and down on earth again. All three is like a travelogue-trilogy based on extraordinary places where the Scottish and the Irish penache mingle. All the very best with the “move”.Take care 🙂

    1. what a wonderful enlightening perspective on it. Thank you for lifting me up from the mundane worry of it all. Sometimes I lose that magic in my anxieties!! There is such a great freedom when you let go of that and soar!!

It’s mutual, your photos, your thoughts and your powerful words always bear magic and have nothing to do with the ordinary.I hate it though when some mundane commitments and chores take away the spells of this transcendental, mystical world …

  14. I’m just beginning that process, Cybele! Decluttering (a massive undertaking) before any work can be done to the house, and lots of work there is. I understand about exciting and trepidation, and blogging taking a bit of a back seat for a bit 🙂 Keep us all posted on how it’s going! In the meantime, love these shots – the perspective of the first is awesome and love the colors of the beautiful countryside in the third 🙂
