Cee’s black and white – what is beautiful to me

I love Cee’s monochrome challenges! This one is called “What is beautiful to me”

I did a series of peacock shots – They are so spectacular I wasn’t sure if they would translate into mono but I thought this one looked as though he was electrified! I hope you think so too.

His quivering tail caught the sun so beautifully it sent a shower of light spheres into the shadows.

Two flew up into a tree and looked like illustrations from a Persian garden

“This is love: to fly toward a secret sky, to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment. First to let go of life. Finally, to take a step without feet.”- Rumi

at last, and also in the park another mysterious creature on a swing that I called Lokisdottir. This is a previous image- she is also the Niamh of my own Tuatha tales.

Try another way of looking. Try you looking and the whole universe seeing.- Rumi

Usually, color images appeal to me more than monochrome, but these are wonderful. It’s amazing how something that’s all about color (peacock) can find a whole new beauty in black-and-white. Very nice!

That peacock does look electrified! Peacocks are so beautifully colored, I never would have thought to try b&w… I guess that’s why I stick to writing, haha!

Astonishing choice for the challenge dear Cybele! The first peacock shot looks like a starburst galaxy!Superb simile of the other two and magical light on the mysteriously appealing face of the angelical creature 🙂 Doda xxx

    1. I was amazed it came out so effectively in mono too!! Yes she is a magical child too. Thank you Doda!

  5. Indeed, the peacock does look electrified. A beautiful picture, Cybele. I’d love it on my wall in a frame, but Mister is superstitious and made enough fuss about his stepson having a peacock feather in the house. Silly superstitions — it’s the belief in them that brings bad luck, not the thing itself.
