This pairs so well with your story, Cybele – the beauty of the rose against the sleeping lion, who ultimately erupts at the end, all with an “ancient” feel to it because of the grunge overlay. So well done! (And I loved your story – I left a comment there too!)

Lovely edit! It really draws the attention onto the rose. The fading of the lion and the gauzy film of the grunge brush perfectly emphasizes the distance between the pair in the story – the rose, waiting alone for the absent lion. Well done. 🙂

The rose looks so alive, like I could touch it. This crops bring the composition closer, with the wild rose and a tired lion, so reflective of your story. I suggest for the last week to enhance the lion an fade out the rose, to give one final visual closure to your beautiful story.

I do like the monochrome version but I think the color one fits better with your story. Your words just instantly take me to another place, I love it!

Love the dark red of the rose and the light just behind it. I see the light was there in the first version but in this version it seems to surround the soft rose in a glow…

Hi Cybele – I like the light in this version, perhaps enhanced by the crop? I like the focus the crop brings to the rose and I do agree, the colour retains the sensuality, although I like the B&W in its own right. Just gorgeous! 😃

Oh, I am likin’ Week 2!! The lion is still present enough, but feels more like a dream-spirit, washed out and slightly cropped. The sensuality of the rose can dominate, and is not lost in the darkness… just my preferences 🙂
