Thanks so much to Leanne Cole and Laura Macky for this great and fun venue of Monochrome Madness!!! Congratulations and praise to all participants for a whole year of wonderful images. Here are a few of mine!
The Kalifa’s garden
Ring of Brodgar
Pampas at sunset
the ghosts of Kadish Tolesa
The tomb of Star Jaguar at Ek Balam
The palace at Sayil on La Ruta Puuc, a city in the jungle
Hi there, thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog. Gorgeous monochromes here… the Kalifa’s garden is absolutely stunning. Love the light and shadows and silhouettes. Fantastic composition!
Materful work in mono Cybele!A striking mosaic of great b/w photos intriguingly created and with perfect use of light.I particularly like your portaiture work in the bottom left corner and the classic photo of the Dugald Stewart Monument.I’ve included it in one of my Scotland posts. When I am under it I always wonder If I am in Athens under the Choragic Monument of Lysicrates near the Acropolis or in Edinburgh on the Calton Hill 🙂
Beautiful pictures Cybele, I love to see your mystical images, you have such a distinctive style. My favourites are the pictures of the trees in the woods with their amazing use of light to create such beautiful atmosphere. 🙂
Your photos are unique. That’s why I am drawn to them. I love what to do with the shades. I love the atmosphere. The ghostliness. The mystery. The emotions and the spectral depths achieved. Monochrome Madness isn’t really madness. It is ingenious.
What a great comment Peter- and you are right about Monochrome Madness!! lol. It does give you a chance to bring out a mood that colour sometimes does not. The mood goes straight through the eye into that place of emotion in the brain whereas colour must be filtered through as the eye works through the spectrum- or some such nonsense that I just thought up lol!! Thanks Peter for all your support!!
a wonderful collection, Cybele. I guess, you definitely picked the best of your photos for you #1 (followed by “the ghosts of Kadish Tolesa”). Ireally like the ‘dreamy’ look in your photos. How about, writing a how-to?
I love the first one…never seen it before and I’m sure the original would be totally different than this. I love them all. They all look like images from a different world. Interesting MM! 🙂
Thanks Cybele for taking me on a journey that started at the tall trees leading me on a magical mystical walk through the woods and jungle of nature and the past. Just stunning 🙂
Praise to you too Cybele, your images are always different and unique and have really added to the gallery each week. I have really enjoyed getting to know you as well. Thank you for being part of MM over the last year.
A thousand thanks Leanne for the participation factor and allowing me to get some of my images noticed! Here’s to another year!!! and another and another!! You are a fine mentor!!
Your images always caught my eye each week, they are a feast for the eyes. It has been such a pleasure getting to know you. First through MM and now One Four Challenge.
I love seeing all the galleries in my reader…wow, what a collection of work displayed today! Congratulations.
Extraordinary !

What gorgeous b/w shots! Do you use HDR post processing?

thank you Patti- I don’t- I usually just use Lightroom and a lot of them are with an infrared camera- sometimes Sep in the nic collection.
