Cee’s challenge- lights in black and white

I’ve been in a bit of a slump due to real life occurrences. I have not had much inclination to get out and take photos so this was the perfect challenge to do without having to leave the cocoon. I’ve been forcing myself to go forward with Noel this year and keeping faith with the spirits of Christmas Past.

I love playing with mono,  though sometimes it seems touched with a sadness or a melancholy mood- which is often normal for me!! Thank you Cee for your challenges!

Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Lights

I added a touch of post processing filter for fun- hopefully lightly.

  1. I find black and white photos extremely inspiring and, as you say, though a tad melancholic, they are extremely evocative as well. It’s a bit like a canvas waiting to be painted on, in a way. 🙂 Great job!

Excellent shots, all of them, but I’m partial to the candle because I like the patterning of the light. Beautiful. We’ll view you later.

  16. I’d gathered from reading between the lines of your recent posts it’s been a rough couple of months. You want the sun to stop shining and the world to stop spinning, but they don’t. So you have to pick yourself up and soldier on. There is still a joy and light in your eye, especially in your black and white shots. While color can capture the beauty, or the vibrancy of the photographed object, black and white strips that away to reveal the spirit, the essence, the raw emotion. I especially liked the Window of lights, and the Tree Lights through a squinty eye.
