The Swell of Tears (journey to the Dark Island)

chapter 20

play this hauntingly beautiful piece called “The Dark Island” by the Irish Rovers

An t-Eilean Dorcha

Niamh prayed that her remaining lost dreams would find her!  She climbed into the currach hoping her journey still led to the sacred spring.  As a swan glided by in a dream of its’ own, the Lady Moon opened night’s starry veil. The long shimmering braid of her hair fell across the sea to the dark island. Niamh set course, but something over the side of the boat caught her eye. She recognized Bran’s pale face shining in the depths! Suddenly a young seal broke the surface and as he disappeared into darkness, Niamh thought she was floating on a swell of tears.

    1. I hear you!! There is something of Niamh in all dreamers like us!! Her journey reminds me of a stranger in a strange land and she just seems to lead me along, but looking and watching breathlessly!
I’m not sure where I will end up lol! Eventually I hope to tie all her journeys together.

Beautiful! My favorite sentence of this piece “The Lady Moon opened night’s starry veil, laying the long shimmering braid of her hair over the sea to the dark island.” Great job, Cybele. 🙂

  7. I do so love the moon, even though a full moon makes stargazing harder! Those are quite enchanting pictures and words of yours, as usual.
